Today we left Kibbutz Mechavia, and headed toward Carmel where we attended Shabbat service at Kehilat Ha Carmel. There are two possible sites where the fire fell from heaven as Elijah called on the name of the Lord God of Israel. One site is where Kehilat Ha Carmel is based and the other site there is a carmelite monistery on. We visited oth places today
At the service we were blessed by a drama of Purim the story of Eshter & Mordichai and the Jews victory over the evil Hamman. it was great and very well done like everything at Kehilat Ha Carmel. After the servie we went down the mountain a little to one of the Druze villages to have lunch. The owner of the cafe is a decorated soldier and a Druze. He prodly displays his citations and like most of the Druze is totally faithful to Israel. So much for the portrayal in the western media of an unhappy oppressed mob of non-Jewish folk living in the land of Israel.
AAfter lunch we traveled through the lower Galilee hills toward Tiberius, You can just soak up the history of the place. Joshua was here, Abraham & David most of the Prophets & kings of Israel would have walked through where we went yesterday but more importantly we were heading into the area where Yeshua (Jesus) spent most of his life, both as a boy and in the years that led to his death & Ressurrection in Jerusalem. He generally only went to Jerusalem for the feasts. I love the north of Israel and it seems like my Master loved the north as well.
Just after sunset we arrived at Hotel Ron Beach our home for the next three nights as we explore most of the north all the way to Mt Hermon. Hotel Ron Beach is right on the shores of the Sea of Galilee or Kineret as its called in Hebrew.
