If we want a return to Apostolic Christianity then we need to be working hard to bless the Jew because the promise made to Abraham in Gen 12 still and always will stand.

Gen 12:3

I will cause you to become the father of a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and I will make you a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you.”

The question is often asked by Christians “So what about the Jews, Where do they fit into Gods timetable and purpose?” This question has largely arisen because of error and ignorance in the church about how the church actually is seen by God. To get an understanding we need to see what Romans 11 says.

I ask, then, has God rejected his people, the Jews? Of course not! Remember that I myself am a Jew, a descendant of Abraham and a member of the tribe of Benjamin. No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning Romans 11:1-2

As a person with Jewish heritage on my mothers side I had always had a heart for the Jewish people and the Land of Israel. In 1976 I had become a Christian and a lot of the teaching around at the time was focused on the Church inheriting the promises of God and the blessings of Abraham. A kind of confusion was happening in my soul because in one part I felt the pull to being Jewish and on the other side I felt a call to abandon myself to Jesus and his church. I hadn’t fully understood that being Jewish and being a believer in Jesus was in fact a very Jewish thing to do. There is still a lot of misunderstanding in the Church about where the Jews fit in to Gods plan. The truth is the Jews have never been out of Gods plan. I soon discovered that Yeshua was a very Jewish Messiah and that the body of messiah was a very Jewish instrument to bring salvation to the whole world.

In her book The healing power of the Roots Dominiquae Bierman says “The Church is like a beautiful rose that has been cut off from the garden and from its roots. It survived for 2 days inside a vase with water. But on the third day it will die unless it is replanted back and reconnected back to its roots.”

Its time for the Church to come back to her Jewish roots not through legalism but through the grace that is extended by Yeshua and Jews need to come back to their land and their Jewish Messiah not through works but through grace extended by Yeshua.

One thing needs to be established right here before I continue on. Whether Jew or Gentile we are made right with God through Yeshua the Messiah. It’s an amazing gift that has been given to mankind and there is no other way of reconciliation between God and man. The blood of Messiah has been accepted by the Father and we are reconciled to him through Yeshua. Through this gift Gentiles have been given the ability to enter into the promise of God and Jews receive the fullness of all Gods purpose for them. In that way we become one new man before God. One doesn’t replace the other but in this we become brothers because of and only because of salvation through Messiah Yeshua.

Ephesians 2:14-19  For Messiah himself has made peace between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one people. He has broken down the wall of hostility that used to separate us. By his death he ended the whole system of Jewish law that excluded the Gentiles. His purpose was to make peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new person from the two groups.  Together as one body, Messiah reconciled both groups to God by means of his death, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.  He has brought this Good News of peace to you Gentiles who were far away from him, and to us Jews who were near.  Now all of us, both Jews and Gentiles, may come to the Father through the same Holy Spirit because of what Messiah has done for us. So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people Israel. You are members of God’s family.

Wow what a gift we are made citizens of Gods people Israel, not a separate entity but One new man in Messiah.

Since 326AD when the Nicean council made this detestable edict “We ought not therefore have anything in common with the Jew. Our worship following a more convenient course and in unanimously adopting this mode, we desire, to separate ourselves from the detestable company of the Jew.” the church has divorced herself from the promise made in Ephesians 2 and needs to repent of this generational bondage which has caused nothing but pain and blood shed for our Jewish brothers & sisters and has brought bondage and a lack of freedom upon the gentile church. Even if as gentiles we hold love in our heart for Israel and yet we have this edict in our foundations our buildings will be unstable. Because we are meant to be built on a foundation first laid by the Apostles & prophets Yeshua himself being the chief among them. As Jews we need to repent and return to our messiah because this is the foundation laid by the Torah & prophets and our buildings will be unstable if we don’t.

The Jews haven’t stumbled beyond Gods hand rather their stumbling has opened a way for Gentiles to be reconciled with God. Their return into the fullness of Messiah is Life from the dead.

Romans 11:11-13

I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

If we want a return to Apostolic Christianity then we need to be working hard to bless the Jew because the promise made to Abraham in Gen 12 still and always will stand.

Gen 12:3

I will cause you to become the father of a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and I will make you a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you.”

JERIMIAH 31:36-37 “I am as likely to reject my people Israel as I am to do away with the laws of nature!  Just as the heavens cannot be measured and the foundation of the earth cannot be explored, so I will not consider casting them away forever for their sins. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Leviticus 26:44-45 “But despite all this, I will not utterly reject or despise them while they are in exile in the land of their enemies. I will not cancel my covenant with them by wiping them out. I, the Lord, am their God.  I will remember my ancient covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of Egypt while all the nations watched. I, the Lord, am their God.”

When we see things mentioned time and again in the word we need to take notice. If its mentioned once it’s important three times you better take note more than three God is very serious about the issue.

Faith is mentioned 247 times, Hope 129 times, love 310 times Israel is mentioned 2566 times and Jerusalem 811 So if we are faith teachers it means that teaching about Israel is 1000 times more important to God than faith.

In Deuteronomy the Lord commanded Israel to bless the foreigner in their midst so for Israel she has a God given mandate to bless the Gentile. This has been done by faithfully guarding the Torah and keeping the commands of the Lord alive through the generations and through the revelation of the Jewish Messiah Yeshua. Jewish Apostles revealed the salvation available through Yeshua to the Gentiles, like an older brother they nurtured and watered the seeds in order for salvation to come. In essence the Gentiles have become the younger brother by way of adoption.

Romans 11:16-24 Abraham and the other patriarchs were holy, their children will also be holy. For if the roots of the tree are holy, the branches will be, too. But some of these branches from Abraham’s tree, some of the Jews, have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, were grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in God’s rich nourishment of his special olive tree.  But you must be careful not to brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. Remember, you are just a branch, not the root.“Well,” you may say, “those branches were broken off to make room for me.”  Yes, but remember—those branches, the Jews, were broken off because they didn’t believe God, and you are there because you do believe. Don’t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen.  For if God did not spare the branches he put there in the first place, he won’t spare you either.  Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe to those who disobeyed, but kind to you as you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off. And if the Jews turn from their unbelief, God will graft them back into the tree again. He has the power to do it. For if God was willing to take you who were, by nature, branches from a wild olive tree and graft you into his own good tree—a very unusual thing to do—he will be far more eager to graft the Jews back into the tree where they belong.

So Gentiles are grafted into the family of Israel as branches. The deception that is in much of the Church is that God has rejected the Jews and replaced them with a new people or a new Israel the gentile Church. This is not what Romans 11 says rather the Gentiles are grafted into the root stock which is Israel. Paul says “Remember, you are just a branch, not the root”

Remember the blessing that is awaiting the Gentile Church when it blesses Israel (Gen 12:3) and in Romans 11:13  For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

In the Parable of the prodigal son the jealous older brother symbolizes the Jewish leadership around the time and after Yeshua the messiah came. The older brother would not accept the pardoned sinners of Israel who made up most of the early church and the gentiles who were grafted in after Peters vision on the roof.  In the 1683 years since the Nicean council the younger brother (the Gentiles) have managed to drive out the older brother (Israel) from His fathers’ house, sell him into slavery and forcefully claim his part of the inheritance, calling it his own. This younger brother drove church leaders to claim all the privileges accorded to Israel in the Torah while rejecting and cursing the Jews. This younger brother influenced the interpretation of the Torah to say that it was just an allegory or a type of the true Israel which he claimed he is. The Torah he said was too crude to be taken literally and its interpretation needed to change to suit the younger brother’s Greek thinking.

This has led to what we call replacement theology in which the younger brother has said God has totally replaced and rejected the older brother. This doctrine has been responsible for the destruction of millions of Jewish lives and souls over many centuries, spawning the Spanish Inquisitions, the east European Pogroms and ultimately the Nazi holocaust.

The younger brother (Gentile Church) must be willing to repent of the wrong teachings that have driven the older brother out. A mere expression of sorrow is not enough. The doctrines must be repented of and the Older brother needs to be invited back to take his place in Messiahs end time plan. The younger brother needs to honour his older brother and bless him and see to it that the older brother receives his due inheritance. Which is Yeshua as his messiah and the land God gave as an inheritance forever.

The foundations of the Church are based on the council of men and not on the Apostles doctrine. The proud younger brother has built on foundations that will not hold the glory of the Lord only Romans 11:13  For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? This foundation is the only one that will be able to carry the Glory. Older brother and younger brother together as one man showing the will and honour of the Father.

Many in the Church are sympathetic to the older brother and even speak words of love to him but it’s not enough. The older brother must be given his rightful place and honour. The younger brother needs to remember Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you. The older brother will see Messiah when he truly sees that the younger brother is repentant. The so called road map to peace which is still trying to disinherit the older brother wouldn’t even get off the page if the younger brother would repent of the lie that he has replaced the older. For true revival to come there needs to be a reformation in the foundations of the building. It will truly hold the glory when the Brothers are One in the root stock again as it was in the first century

Because Gods promise to the older brother is sure we can be very confident that his promise to the younger will be fulfilled. Hebrews 6:13-16 says “For example, there was God’s promise to Abraham. Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying:“I will certainly bless you richly, and I will multiply your descendants into countless millions.” Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised. When people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding.  God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.  So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence. This confidence is like a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain of heaven into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest in the line of Melchizedek.

This is a wonderful day of restoration, The Jews restored back to the land and their messiah and the gentiles back to the roots of the first century. This is revival, this is life from the dead.
