When my children were young I used to play hide and seek with them. Part of the fun of playing with little children is that you can hide in plain sight and when they see you they get so excited. God is the same. He wants to be found. There is nothing that is really hidden its just hidden in plain sight. Some things when we see them are very obvious but mind sets have blinded the sons. The truth “Man & Woman Reconciled” is the most liberating truth. It is there in plain sight; but much of the body of Christ can’t or won’t see it. The reconciliation of Adam (Man & Woman)is part of the total restoration of all things as declared in Acts 3:20-21. Jesus died and rose to become the last Adam; that restoration is intended to be demonstrated in the Sons. Jesus being the first fruits among them.
Lets look at the beginning
Genesis2:7 (NASB) Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Where was the Woman in this encounter? – she was still in Adam
Genesis2:15 (NASB) Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.
Where was the Woman? – She was in Adam
Genesis2:21-25 (NASB) So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place. The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said,”This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.” For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Eve wasn’t named at this stage – The woman was Adam and the man was Adam – Bone of my bone. Same bone….both Adam.
Adam had both male & female attributes; he had to have had, because The woman was still in him.
The Woman came out of the side of Adam – then came the fall – she was just called the Woman because she was ADAM the woman.
Genesis 3:1 (NASB) Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Indeed, has God said, ”You shall not eat from any tree of the garden”?”
Woman called Adam still
Genesis 3:2-6 (NASB) The woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ”You shall not eat from it or touch it, or you will die.”” The serpent said to the woman,”You surely will not die! “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.
After the fall – Adam named the woman Eve
Genesis 3:20-21 (NLT)Then the man-Adam-named his wife Eve, because she would be the mother of all who live. And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.
Genesis 3:19,22-23 (NLT) By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from which you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return.” Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.
Genesis 3:22-24 (NLT) Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!” So the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made. After sending them out, the Lord God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And he placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
Subconsciously there has always been a blame game going on between man and woman. The Woman made me do it. The man didn’t protect me. But the truth of Genesis here is that they were both Adam. Equal and part of the one being.
That is why the Act of marriage is so special, because in that Act man and woman become One flesh. It’s a demonstration of the One Adam. The unity between man and woman recreates the oneness of ADAM only in the act of Marriage ( or sex within Marriage) That’s why any perversion of sex out side the One Man & One Woman model is totally flawed and wrong. Male on Male cannot bring a restoration of Adam and neither can Woman on Woman. Multiple partners brings a confusion of Adam and losses its power. Only the Act of Marriage, One man and One Woman brings this reconciliation.
God in His wisdom took a bride out of the side of Adam (near the ribs) and in Christ, God through the wound caused by the spear in his side is calling a bride back into himself. Not man nor woman but Adam restored and in unity with one another and with Christ.
